A statewide coalition
of organizations concerned with issues affecting low and moderate-income
people in Texas. The Texas Alliance provides data, legislative testimony,
technical assistance, and materials on topics like hunger, health,
income equity, and housing. Its newsletter, The TAHN Monitor, which
comes out 5 times annually, is a gold mine of usable information,
including readable explanations of state and federal rules and agency
activities. Each issue usually contains a 4-page pullout section
on a specific subject; spring 1999 pullout was on the Texas tax
structure and the case for reform. Membership is $25.
